The General Services Administration's OASIS contract is open for business and making inroads with the military, where GSA has not historically had much presence. The Army and Air Force have each signed agreements with GSA to use the contract for for full-and-open and small business task orders for complex professional services.

To help the military and other government entities better understand the contract's features and nuances, Jim Ghiloni, GSA's program executive officer for OASIS, will speak at an upcoming AFCEA event, titled the "OASIS and FEDSIM Update."

The event will take place April 29 at The Hamilton Live in Washington. Other GSA leaders will also provide insight and information.

"There's some research and development that's coming out," Ghiloni said in an interview late last year. "I think that's an area that we're excited about at GSA. … That's the reason the Air Force came to us; they acknowledged or understood that the cost internally to duplicate these contracts over and over again was costing them time and money and resources. By building on the platform of the OASIS program, they're able to eliminate that duplication to free up those resources … We think that other agencies will also see the value of it as they become familiar with the program."
