Amazon Web Services is offering federal agencies free access to its Trusted Advisor program through Feb. 27, allowing IT managers to assess their cloud performance and identify potential efficiencies and savings.

During the initial preview period, agencies using AWS GovCloud will be able to run 19 system checks that will return recommendations on cost savings, increasing system performance, improving reliability and closing security weaknesses.

According to AWS, the program has identified more than 2.6 million recommendations and $350 million in cost reductions since it was launched in 2013.

After the preview period ends on Feb. 27, GovCloud users will be able to access the full breadth of Trusted Advisor with a Business-level or Enterprise-level account. GovCloud customers will still be able to run Service Limits and Security Groups checks without upgrading.
